PLATFORM FRAME
Our platform frame is constructed as most mattress-only style bed platform, for those not wishing to use a standard box spring on their bed.
We simply raise the lower bed rails to a height where a mattress would normally meet a box spring, and add additional bed slats to close the gaps a bit more. NOTE: we do, however, recommend a rigid base, low profile (2-3") boxspring, or bunkie board underneath to protect the mattress and prevent the sagging of the mattress between the slats - to avoid slat movement and potential noise. We recommend searching Amazon.com for bunkie boards based on the size of the bed you're ordering - sold separately and not included. It provides a modified bed rail height of 15" from floor, which subsequently provides 12" of height under the bed rails. Adjustments to these heights can be requested (higher or lower), but bear in mind the effect this might have on the foot board pattern, and your potential use of a sling at the foot of the bed. FOOTBOARD TOP RAIL (FTR)
ADDITIONAL RESTRAINT POINTS (ARP)/D-Rings
UNDER BED CAGE OPTION
Adds a cage under the main platform of your bed. Please allow 2 additional weeks lead time (in addition to our standard lead times) for the addition of a cage to the build of your frame. (Learn more)
DE-CONSTRUCT OPTION
Adjusts the build of your bed to ship in smaller pieces. Follow the link to learn more if you think you might have difficulty getting the pieces of this frame into your home. Please also allow 2 additional weeks lead time (in addition to our standard lead times) for the completion of any de-constructed bed frame. (Learn more)
OFF-CENTER SUSPEND RAIL (CSR)
This option is for customers looking to add a permanent center suspension rail across the bed positioned 60" inward from the footboard (rail sits left to right), for either additional restraint points, or to support the use of a sling from the side of their bed. We push the rail out 60" (off-center) from the footboard so this strong supportive rail can hold the right extender bar in place from the side of the bed.
NOTE: to use this option with the sling extender bars from the side of the bed, your bed will require the footboard top rail option as well. We can also move this bar center or to other distances if you prefer...simply add a note during checkout with the desired location.

I could not be happier with my purchase, almost 6 months afterwards.
Working with the guys who run this was a pleasure, open communication all the way and quick to answer all of my questions. I purchased a floor model of this bed that was displayed at IML earlier this year. It was required for me to make my own arrangements to pick it up at the end of the convention, and communicating with them on the specifics was as smooth as it could be.
The bed is incredible. Since the model I have was a platform bed, the base of the mattress is up off the floor, which leaves the entire underside of the bed for storage and conveniently as I've noticed after having the bed for a while, the raised up slats are very useful in many different positions (as in standing on the edge or using it to raise one foot up etc). Having the lower side restraint loops raised up actually makes certain things a lot simpler and easier due to not having to bend over as far to access different restraint points.
My model has the off-center cross bar which is great for a 5 point sling and also nice to have when doing things on the actual bed as it gives yet another point to support/restrain if standing/kneeling on the mattress or something of the sort, but in the middle of the mattress, which you can't do as easily without it.
This thing is so incredibly fun to play on/in and I keep learning new things to do with it not only from my own imagination but from visitors as well. Could not be happier.
We had purchased the Dore Alley Bed from a second party retail store. There was a mix up in who was going to set up the bed for us. After some back-and -forth with the retail store and the delivery company I was surprised to hear that the owner of Dungeon Beds was coming out himself to set our bed up. The bed was beautiful and very well made. Thank for going above and beyond in bringing the bed of our dreams to us!
